So this will be the handset UX on the N900.
And well also have a Harmattan UI on the N900 at some point?
Nokia doesn't care about breaking promises to us! Don't make me laugh :P

Pretty much told us to take our "disruption" wants and turn them into desires for WP7.....

Their words/promises mean nothing to us lot any more...

And seems like almost all hardwares are working (with/without bugs) by now: display(obviously), cam, speaker, call, 3G data, charging, sms, mms(?) etc etc. I would like to know what things are in least priority?

Btw from othe side, why to install meego now? It is another os that will be left by nokia and kind of handed over to community. It won't have tons of great and commercial games and apps. We can install all meego application in maemo 5 as all libs of meego can be installed in maemo (correct me!!). Meego will have quite limited ui and functionalities than maemo. Qt will be certainly first choice to developers for developing app and hence will/can develop app for meego without having meego installed in device!

Gerrr!! What I thought 6 months back and what's going on are drastically different! Don't know what to say.
Odd that we will now have Nokia upported Meego on the N900, of sorts, but not Nokia supporting Meego!!

I wonder if the Intel games etc will work on the RPM based Meego on N900, if not you do wonder what developers are actually going to move to developing for the N900 if there is no customer base for there apps once they have developed them?

I agree. Stkeeps had some explanations, but this move by Nokia makes little sense. Why the N900, why not the N950? The N900 is old, by the time any usable comes out from Nokia, it will be about 2 years old. Why would anyone want to develop anything on a 2 year old device, that hardly anyone use on a regular basis anymore?

No, this is just a last desperate move by Nokia trying to prevent developers running to WebOS or Android or whatever else they may do on their own. Or maybe (but unlikely) it is one step of several to create a plan B.

    Confusing.
if they rreally is reinvent networkmanageer there prrolbadöly is reasonss. fdorl example networkmanager waas written for pc at first not for embedded devices == needs more powersaving functionality as an example!

    1) It's not my project, someone else leads it - I do the hardware adaptation
    2) It's "Our sausage" as it's a open project

Commenting on the comment regarding Intel stuff - MeeGo API is pretty similar on X86 and ARM so getting your things compiled on ARM as well is fairly trivial with the help of OBS or the MeeGo SDK.

Also, you guys keep on forgetting that MeeGo is layered - ie, a hardware adaptation + MeeGo Core + stuff. So anything above MeeGo Core is portable to other devices. Which means any effort for one device helps the many.

You could even run MeeGo "DE" on one of the MeeGo Conference Ideapads for development purposes.
