Guys, relax. I know everyone's really hyped about everything going on, but it's not like delays never happen in the software world.

Would you rather something that was fully QA tested or a half-assed firmware with big bugs that won't have a fix for another few months?

I highly doubt Skype is a part of the firmware, just like Gizmo isn't.

Relax. Getting the pitchforks because they haven't put the firmware update up at 12:01am is a little extreme.

The Nokia shop is still open until 21.00. Should i rush there and start to complain? Throw my IT into their window?

i don't see why something can't be on time and functioning properly... If i was always late with my work or was on time and it was never right, I would be fired. I think the feelings everone is sharing about skype on the n800 is completely valid.

Frustration is created by expectation

By the way, any idea who has been delaying who? Nokia or Skype? That maybe a stupid question...
How does the integration process work?

It is in the Nokia press release:

The first implementation on the Nokia N800 is expected to be made available for download by the end of first half of 2007.
It is just like the Railroad: it is annoying that a train is late, but is is even worse when nobody tells you about it and neglect to inform you about what is going on.

very bad customer service imho.

this unability to announce bad news is the naked truth about Finns.
Nokia is a multinational, so there are a lot of other nationalities present, so that is hardly an excuss (I believe a lot of Maemo people are in Brazil at a Nokia Institute of Technology if i'm not mistaken).
It is just arrogance. They are biggest mobile company, so people will buy the products anyway, no matter how bad the customer service.

that's true. But who created these expectations? Right Nokia! So who created these frustrations? NOKIA!

Yes, right, but managing the info regarding the release date is done at least in Multimedia HQ, that s in Nokia House, Keilaniemi, Espoo, in the beatiful 1000 lakes country.
