Fair enough, but that was part of my point - even if you disable forced rotation, there's still a bunch of programs that DO rotate now - namely, Modest, the Settings menu, and I THINK Hildon App Manager. It certainly has support for it now, not sure if it comes with it auto-enabled. It's also in the app menu, and while it can be disabled there too, it's yet another thing that is now rotating automatically, forced rotation or not.
It might alleviate the issue for him, but if he actually wants/likes portrait mode enough to not shut it off, but is still irritated by the ease of triggering rotation, then he's basically stuck with one form of unhappiness or another. *Shrug*
