Default Proximity sensor always true when keyboard closed

Hello,

I have a strange problem, maybe someone can help me out ? I did search but found no solution.

This week I was finally able to replace my N900 LCD after I broke it.
But since the replace my proximity sensor is always 'true' when the keyboard is closed. So my screen stays black until i unlock or open the keyboard. Very unpractical for recieving phonecalls or stopping my wakeup alarm. When I check my sensor in HealthCheck, it switches to True when i close the keyboard, but works fine when the keyboard is open.

I haven't reflashed (yet), but maybe someone is familiar with this problem ? I doesn't seem a software issue because HealthCheck perfectly explains why my screens stays black, the proximity sensor thinks it is always covered

Anyone an idea ?

Any help is much appreciated ...

Kind regards,
Wimmme

Hello

I had/have the same problem. I did change my lcd screen yesterday. First my proximity sensor doesn't work has you explain. But know it seems to work again. I suppose it is hardware that is broken. Maybe there is a short circuit somewhere.
I have also my led-ligth that doesn't work like it shall do. It's sad, but I can really only imagine it is some hardware problem.

regards

Did you replace the screen yourself? At a guess I'd say you didn't quite put it back together properly and when you close the keyboard it pushes the sensor out of place and it thinks it is covered.

Very good news ! Reassembly with new screws did the trick, my sensor is working again. My phone became almost useless as a phone, thnk god its working again !

Thank you for confirming what I actually knew deep inside, but I needed that little push.

Case closed.
