Ok i have preenv 0.1.7 installed, and yesterday i installed settlers using the .deb installation,
It went fine and i can play the game without problem

But then i had to uninstall it because my rootfs is almost full

Now i install it again, and the game won't start.
When i run it via x-term
the game won't start and i got

"application asked for device id"

I tried downgrading to 0.1.5, setting the correct permisson on game path, applying jflatt patch but none works..

Any idea why?
I don't understand because it was working fine yesterday,
and now it doesn't

Also i think i got "home/user is not ours" when running via x-term,
but only once, after trying again it doesn't show up again

Hello,

I have a similar problem before : there is an hidden file in /home/user (something like ".deviceid"), you must replace its content by "0000" to fix the issue on Settlers.

There is a post about this in the big thread of Preenv.

You mean .preenv-uid?

I've tried the one here :

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=936

But it still doesn't work
So i changed it manually in filebox to 0000
But it still doesn't work either..
Still getting "application asked for device id"

Yes, I mean this file. I don't know what your issue could be. When you talk about the message "home/user is not ours", how you can modified the ".preenv-uid"file if you don't have permissions ?

Don't run games as root. I've warned many, many times against it because it tends to create havoc with permissions...

I see, i think i had to root because i thought accessing /usr/bin/gamefile requires rooting..
so what should i do to restore the permission?
