Are the apps written for maemo compatible with meego ?

No. Not all apps are easily run on Meego. The only apps that will run will be the one written in QT4.7 and QML.
Those apps need to be recompile and ported to MeeGo device. Remember that MeeGo is not only ARM, it's also X86 intel. So it may be required a few tweaks to get it running.
