That's what I don't get either. Why would Nokia give away a dev phone with 12mpx camera and whatnot? Isn't that why they decided to release MeeGo DE for N900 - for developers?
It's clear to me that the video is not new. It does have the Symbian-Anna icons but I suspect they were in the works for MeeGo / Harmattan and because they invested in them, they decided "why not release them in Symbian" ? Seriously, the new icons in Symbian were a complete surprise to everyone.
We will probably never know the complete story behind N9-00, N9-01 and N950. Even after the Nokia MeeGo-related device will be lauched, we will still be in doubt about this subject.
I don't get this, what would be the point of a dev device which has 12MP camera and so on? I think that's bullcrap.
First they tell the world, that MeeGo is not going to be developed anymore. And the next step is to release a device for MeeGo developers?
I was wondering about the 12mpix camera. The body of the device looks pretty slim, but a good quality cmos sensor has to be large enough to produce decent pics (like N8). Brilliant engineering or 12mpix camera with very noisy images?
If it indeed is "only for developers" then how the hell is that determined? For developers only. Bah. That's crazy talk! Then again there has been a lot of crazy talk from Nokia lately.

It's not MeeGo, it is Maemo/Harmattan. Why release it anyway when Nokia has gone MS ? I don't know, but I bet it will be able to run Maemo (out of the box) and MeeGo (probably at some point) and WM7 as well, and of course Nitdroid some time later. Maybe even Symbian (some leaked versions made for the chipset??).
