I believe modest sometimes drops email messages from an imap-folder. I would like to know, if the problems is known.
I use 5 accounts, 4 of which are imap accounts and 1 pop3 account.
It happened at least 3 times, that after startup when checking for emails i got the notification for a new message on imap.web.de, also giving a reasonable sender address.
However after checking the inbox I get no new message shown. BTW: I usually have no old messages in my inbox.
Also when checking with another client on the desktop I cannot see any new message. Thus the message was dropped from imap leaving no way for me to access the message.
In all cases I received another email from the same sender before.
So
- I KNOW that modest alarms for a message that I cannot access
- I SUSPECT that the alarmed-for message is a new one, which is dropped. It MIGHT be, that no new message was received, but an outdated alarm for an old (however already manually deleted) message was given.
Is this problem known?
If yes I would need to stop using modest!
