I've got a bit of an annoying problem. I want to have some dictionaries on my N900. So I downloaded MStarDict.
Then I wanted to download the dictionaries, but I couldn't find most of the dictionaries I needed.
I need these dictionaries:

Dutch - French
French - Dutch
English - Dutch
Dutch - English

So I found some FreeDict dictionaries, but those aren't the same as Stardict dictionaries. For example I downloaded freedict-nld-eng-0.1.1.tar.bz2 and extracted it on my netbook (I use Ubuntu 11.04). Inside there were two files: nld-eng.dict.dz and nld-eng.index.
nld-eng.dict.dz is a compressed file, which has nld-eng.dict inside and which I cannot extract for some reason. Tried three different programs, I can see the .dict file inside but just gives errors like "An error occured while extracting files".

I tried adding them to my N900 and opening them with MStarDict, but it did not recognise them.

Well there's just two options really, either I'll have to somehow convert the files to Stardict dictionaries, or I'm going to have to find other dictionary files. The French to Dutch and other way around ones are very hard to find.

Could anyone give me links to the said dictionaries in Stardict format, or explain to me how to convert these dictionaries?

When I needed dictionaries, I read about others converting. You'll probably have to google a bit, or ask at the Stardict sourceforge area.
