anyone please help? i removed the old patch n installing new one but When I execute ./patchit.sh I get permission denied.
zurrian i guess your problem is with patchit.sh exists at MyDocs
then do the following :
IMPORTANT ONLY zurrain
after downloading the patch.tar.gz to MyDocs (The default root folder) the one you see directly when you connect N900 to PC
type this:
sudo gainroot
THEN COPY AND PASTE:
cd MyDocs
tar xzvf patch.tar.gz
mv patchit.sh ./..
cd ..
chmod 755 ./patchit.sh
./patchit.sh
./patchit.sh
rm ./patchit.sh
mv transitions.ini MyDocs/
PS: No problems if you get not find bla bla bla...
cause i made all the possibilities
and if you still having the problem then i can't help you anymore than this
Another great thing is to make MyDocs partition executable. This is especially useful for those who would like to have many webos games and don't want to fill up opt partition (2GB).
hey btw we had to put rm ./patchit.sh right? its not for uninstalling this patch right because its rm. it works now though what would be the real difference when u use the script in your mind? what should we see the first thing noticeable after the patch?
thanks
rm ./patchit.sh is just to cleanup (the patch is not removed)
the first thing you may notice is a much better multi tasking
try to open 10 web pages (and you will notice that it is much smoother than it used ti be (normally withou the patch after you open 4 pages
N900 starts to lag
Also read post 1 and see the feedbacks
they said what is noticable
thanks! very noticable improvement! im running cssu and this patch, plus all tweaks , xlv 500-750, smart reflex enabled as well as hardware acceleration..and i get performance on par with when I was overclocked to 950! high performance without the same hit to battery life...what more could one ask for?!
I've tried running the patch... and you claim that it should be better than the previous script eh?
I honestly don't see how is it better or how to measure it because before this, the multitasking was already quite fantastic... but at least, it isn't any worse and I'm pleased with the performance of the n900 so far... very rarely do i have to overclock it now even when playing webos games or heavily browsing the internet....
very good job with the patch... both karam and thingonaspring
After installing last patch something went wrong big time. After reboot it stopped at start screen (5 dots). Flashing roofs didn't help, I had to flash also eMMC.
Any idea what might have caused this?
Before that no problems at all.
Well, now I have at least clean device
EDIT: After re-flashing (rootfs+eMMC), N900 is again up and running. Now script installed OK and no problems since.
