Lindegaard, thanks for that post. Just one question though... when you said it can dualboot with android fx, what did you mean? I don't know of a version or project fx in android.
If you can get you hands on a android version then you will be able to install it and use it on the N9 while still having the meego - a reboot is most likely required
What officially? And yet no RX officially?
Well that's arse backwards... doesn't make sense.
Esp. since some comm. devs are having to "hack in" RX/RDS now.
They are starting to get some help directly from Nokia folk.

Remember that article I posted a while back, + all the evidence we've found to suggest that it's there, or coming.

Wot? Doesn't make sense...
See my post, same page as this one of yours I think.

What so they intend to continue contracting people to develop for harmattan?

Also, a more general question: anyone know what kind of battery the N9 uses? Is it a normal battery encased in the unit or a custom job only used in the N9? Because if the first one is true and it's a BL-5J or some other standard model then we won't have legacy problems. All you need is a guy with some tools and a battery you can buy off the shelf. Worst case scenario, a sufficiently non-butter-fingered user can replace it himself. If it's a custom one, though, and Nokia stops producing it... well, tick, tock, tick, tock.
I think it's bog standard, can't recall exact model no. off-the-top-of-my-head.
I think it was in the service manual...
Where does he say that? I don't see any connection between the further development of SwipeUX on S40 and support for the N9.
At least it may help a bit at the upper-most levels of the UI...
Freeing-up more resources for Nokia/community to focus more on issues/features "under the hood".
However, you have to admit, when it's really been released in September still, it's way better than what they did for example with the N8 (announced in April, first shipments on September 30 - 5 mths) & E7 (Announced in Nokia World September, shipments in February - 5 mths).
N9 would be June-Sept -> 3 mths.
Unbeatable however is Nokia 701. Announced end of August, shipments expected still in September.
Last week I was at Nokia Store to get some info about N9 availability. Guy told me: "In about two months." And I: "WHAT?! What did happen to new strategy 'Announce late, deliver early'?!" And he responded: "We don't have such strategy. Yeasterday I was at training (course), so I should know. Maybe you know better than me. (troll grin)"
Good to see this happening. Can't see why Nokia didn't implement this in to the settings right away, but i'm fine with this.
Yeah they really did take the simplify mantra too far in some respects.
But good to see there's augmentations creeping-in all over the place already.
Folders tweak would be another nice one to see.....
