what is your location and what network are you with?
might be worth calling your network to see if they can help. if all fails do a reflash (wiki has instructions). do a backup first but dont save your settings (but save app list and everything else).

jaffer, you created another thread with the same question?

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=74528

try using your sim on another phone to see if that connects through gprs.

Ok well here's the details
1 i checked my sim in my N97 mini, it works, the browser and everything works

2 checked it again in my N900, the widget for weather, updates, but the opera browser, and the built in browser, won't work.

3 i tried another sim in my phone (n900), it does the same thing, only the widget works but both the browsers won't work

4 i asked a couple of people who use N900 on my network (warid) in pakistan, they said everything works fine. God knows whats wrong with mine

5 i bought this phone for a hefty price and i love it, i don't want these issues now, it's a computer, it shouldn't mess things up like this.

6 in my previous post i asked someone and they said something linked with the xterminal, i don't know that, but is there a setting in the browser?

7 if the widget updates, why doesn't the browser work, it does work on my N97 mini...

HELP ME PLEASEEEE

may be there is a problem with DNS ? widget may have IP hardcoded.
please do the following :
connect to wifi
install rootsh from application manager
reboot
connect to GPRS
start x-terminal, write the following, press return after each line.
sudo gainroot
ping -c 5 8.8.8.8
#do you get replies ?
ping -c 5 google.com
#do you get replies or get unknown host ?
if you get the later do:
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >> /etc/resolv.conf
ping -c 5 google.com
#you should get replies now
please try, and post the results from the pings.

hopefully you wont need to flash the device for this problem but i would recommend at least learning how to do it.

google how to flash n900 and you will get a wiki result for this website. we all use that guide and it is quite easy to follow.
