I am recently encountering some unusual problems in my N900 i.e,

1. The display stays lit ( even though i have kept the proper settings) it just stays lit through out does not dim until i myself lock the phone.

2. When ever i lock my phone or lock screen the music player also stops, if headphones are plugged in its showed unplugged after the screen locks.

these are few recent problems i have.
please help.

1. Did you have the charger connected when the device stays lit? If so, did you check under settings > display for `device stays lit when charging'?

2. It sounds like a power savings issue, maybe even with possibly too many icons inside hildon-home. As far as I know you can have 8 icons shown beside the battery indicator icon and not including the signal icon.

Which firmware are you using? what sort of programs do you have installed?

no the charger was not connected,so no issues of settings..

i have hardly have 2 icons besides the battery indicator including the signal icon..

i am using P.R.1.3 firmware ..no much programs have been installed ,
programs like Air crack etc.have been installed..

i can not help you much in this, how ever i can bump your thread, the problem looks serious here are a few tips

have you tried restart the phone(many times it solve strange problems)

or try to restore the phone at earlier restore point

Can you post a snapshot of your screen if this happens?

The screen of my N900 stays lit, if I use the "Personalise your device"
mode.

This already emptied my battery several times.

@2.: tplayer also stops shortly when screen is locked or unlocked.
Don't know why.
