I've only had my 770 a few days. I had it booting off a 2G MMC using the maemo.org howtos.

Tonight I dropped it. Now when I boot of the MMC, it spontaneously reboots. If I run the audio player, it reboots immediately. If I just surf, it may last a while. It works OK when booted off the internal flash.

So. Damaged MMC? Bent pins? Something else?

Suggestions?

I would try replacing the current MMC card with another in there to see if you could access it with the file manager while booting off the flash. Try copying/opening some kind of files like pictures or text files.

I am not sure if something is damaged in there but you could try reflashing the device (at your own risk) if applications are behaving abnormally?

You haven't said if your 770 powered off when you dropped it, but if it did there's a chance your MMC ext2 partition is corrupted. Reformat ext2 (partition 2) and copy the OS again.

Does it still boot off internal flash OK?

Just to clarify, since the drop, it spontaneously reboots when running off the MMC. When booted off the the internal flash it works OK, but I haven't tried reading files off the MMC.

I will try that tonight, with the 2G MMC and the stock MMC.

When I dropped it, the device was on, but possibly sleeping. (The lid was on for a while, does that put it in a sleep mode?) When I picked it up, it was "on".

Thanks,
LB
