Just a note about shipping to Canada. My experience has been that most, if not all, of the couriers charge exorbitant "brokerage fees" to import things into Canada. These fees are on top of the 7-12% taxes that Canadians are charged no matter how something is imported. They start at $25 and can go over $100 for really expensive items.
So I have found that the good old US Postal Service is a reliable way to ship from the US. They simply bill you for the taxes, payable upon delivery to my local post office. As for other countries, I'm not sure, but I'd suspect their postal services are probably similar.
Got my 64GB N9 from negri electronics today. Unlike some previous buyers, mine was NOT starhub branded. It's made in China and is the Australia variant. And it's bloody awesome
I hope the rest of you looking for N9s find them soon!
This is just the kind of confidence feedback I needed. My order has now been place. Cannot wait to get my hands on the blue one! Probably the last Nokia I will buy... although I may re-buy a N95 one day - just for kicks.
Good old N95. The first mobile phone I bought was N95 (the previous ones were from work place). It was the first mobile phone that seemed exciting enough to use my own money on.
It is only fitting that the first phone I will buy after that is the N9. Also the last Nokia I can see myself buying on the foreseeable future. May it serve me well for many years to come..

My second 64 black just arrived too (this time from Negri) and the (white, made in china) label on the box does not show branding, as opposed to the one from whymobile.com that had Starhub branding on the label and was branded so.
Can anyone else who received branded or unbranded 64 GB phones from Negri confirm if the sticker reflects the branded (or lack of it)? I'm not sure I'm going to open it since it was my backup, but I'm curious.
EDIT: I opened it. It's unbranded. Looks like imported from australia.

I just received my 64gb N9 from Negri today, and can confirm that it is unbranded. As someone coming from an N900 and had an N800, it certainly is taking some getting used to. I may post some more thoughts about the N9 from a maemo user's perspective once I play around with it some more.

seems like Negri is getting them wherever they can. Good on you for getting one unbranded too!
I think the real miss for me from coming from the N900 is the lack of widgets on the home screen. While the feed makes it a little nicer in some aspects, its propensity to group everything i do into one list (news, twitter) is a tad annoying and the ability to add another home screen, or quickly switch feeds (is there a way to ads RSS to the feed?) would be very useful.
Friends got two 64gb Black N9's from Malaysia, they were branded. But the 64gb ones from Dubai were not, despite being wrapped in branding.
Against better judgement, I opened up my 16gb N9 from Dubai, and it was also not branded - the wrapper had their logo all over the thing.
Expected a delivery of a Magenta and Cyan N9 today, both are held up in customs.
I'm still working channels, some folks are only able to get small amounts. I still have about 20 people on the list, I'm still going through friends and folks here.
Slowly. No real updates this week guys. Sorry about that.
So it seems like the 64gb from Dubai are the best priced or the ones from Malaysia? Wouldn't it be better to go with the ones that aren't branded for future upgrades etc, or does that all not matter with a quick flash? I may have a friend in UAE that could help me, if not I'll be looking here for sure. Thanks to all those who've contributed to this thread.
