Hi,

I want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling Skype. I'm hoping doing so might solve the problem I'm having which is that when I use it to make a call the Media Player software then can not open any files. I discovered today that if I close Skype during this condition, the Media Player software will then work properly. I have looked on the application manager page where I see there is a fairly large list of Skype apps listed. So, should I just delete all of them? Or would some of them be what Nokia may have included with the OS to accomidate Skype ?

Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil:
I can 'reproduce' your problem exactly when I make a skype-OUT call (skype-to-skype & skype-IN would probably have the same effect). So I think it is a bug and that reinstalling will not fix it.

I am having a similar problem when using the new SIP communication client. I can receive & make calls using my various SIP accounts, even with Skype running, until I make one single skype-OUT call, whereafter my SIP client stops working.

The only way to become operational again, as you pointed out, is to close & reopen skype. Luckily that doesn't take too long.

I will look around the forum to see who else has noted similar behavior.
We might need to file an official bug report.
