Dilemma #1 is the warranty. #2, which is the bigger problem, is the skill. Hehe
There are success stories of usb port restoration here in Nokia Philippines, though. Plus I have filed down my usb connector and charger's 'teeth'.

Thanks again - Didn't mean for this post to turn into a big USB debate - I just dont have the skills or tools to open, disasemble fix & reasemble it unfortunatly & since my upgrade is due i thought i would give android a try.
