Both ways are possible. But better go with the first one.

I don't know exactly what you mean with T8,1

Yesterday I fashed my n900, then want to install the cssu testing.

Today I saw that known issues are fixed. After that I tried to update the n900. Until reboot it remains off

    -----------------

Ok I will try to flash it now and do the process one more time, to be sure

    ----------------

    Everthing fine

    good work

    Ok, initial report.

Just upgraded, and have the following issues:
Text size in places immediately went very, very small. E.g. conversations summary, status menu, etc

To fix this, I rebooted. I noticed lots of stock nokia stuff reappearred, like the ovi bar and default widgets. When it restarted, I got the nokia sms thing. All my widgets are missing, and when I add them, nothign happens.

The desktop also keeps restarting every few seconds.

I'm also getting a load of internal errors in calendar et al.

...contacts just sits there spinning too - no contacts

Try restoring transitions.ini from cssu features. Long time ago had similar problems because of that.

Nope, updated it and no good. I tried backupmenu's fsck and it said my home had errors though...

...just running it manually and yeah, seems hosed. I guess all the updates of system components to a dodgy filesystem borked it really badly.

May I suggest a cssu pre-install fsck that the partition is clean first?

Unfortunately e2fstools in maemo is too old and seems to do more harm than good. We'll try to bring newer version for the next update

Yeah... wish I'd known that before I ran it from backupmenu's root console! I've reattached it to a Debian box and we'll see if any of those lovely fmms and eventlogger dbs gets found

Again after reboot the same story, 1 - default, 2,3,4, (...) - set by user.
    Message tone same thing.
Any ideas about it? it's 5th or 6th user reporting such weirdo.
