Generally, I agree - but for users wanting promiscuous mode, it's as easy as setting fmask or umask to 0000 on mount-opts-override, and you have it "back".

What I'm about, is that it shouldn't be promiscuous by *default*, for every user installing cssu(testing).

The ringtone problems have returned for me. The phone has reverted to the default ringtone after a few weeks of working correctly with my custom tone (Low.acc). I used an alarm for the first time in quite a while yesterday. Might just be a coincidence. 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo8.2

    As for "who did it":
    http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...2&postcount=74

Have mercy, as he is quite productive guy. And I still think that ability to upload system packages to extras-devel is a bug of repositories *more* than carelessness of uploaders.

Maybe this could help with tracking down the source of the ringtone problems:

After noticing the ringtone problem today, I decided to reboot the phone to see if that would fix it. I had some trouble getting the phone to start up--the first two times it got to the NOKIA logo and then the screen turned off. Finally on the 3rd attempt it booted up. Ringtone was still the default Nokia ringtone. So, I switched the profile to "Silent" using the power-button menu. Then I tried to switch back to "General" via the same method, but the menu still had the "Silent" option, even though the silent icon was displayed in the status bar. So, I clicked on the status bar and went to the "Profile" menu and selected "General" from there. Then I called my phone and the correct custom ringtone was played. I use ProfilesX.

I'm concerned about the boot-up problems, but that may be unrelated to ringtones.

I have found that fsck is outdated and may cause the problems and corrupting the filesystem.
Does the fsck from backup menu works well? or is it the same binary?

    Two problems with rtcom-messaging-ui/rtcom-messaging-ui-portrait (?):
    1.

Messages list in single conversation view is not properly updated (scrolled down to the last one). Notice that it`s sent message at above screenshot but it also happens for incoming one. It`s quite common, mainly in portrait orientation.

    2.

You can see fragment of the portrait scrollbar - in the same position counting from left screen edge. When going from portrait to landscape orientation, size of the scrollbar is updated to smaller one, but its position remains the same. It`s quite common too.

rtcom-messaging-ui-portrait is just java script and CSS modifications. Any JS & CSS guru here?
