For me this is unacceptable. Having the same contact details on my macbook and phone is absolutely vital as I do not wish to put them online anywhere.

Does anyone know of a way to sync the contacts with Mac OS X or Winblows?

If this true, it just fills up my judgement about the wannabeIphone from Nokia, the N9 (the N95 was nearly perfect, but late. maybe edit post title?).
But I can not believe (yet).
What about using Nokia Suite (aka OVI Suite formerly known as PC Suite)?

    But now I do:

    HOLY SH*T.
    Brave new world.

I would never put my contacts/calendar/taks/notes to the cloud. And bring this piece of electronic back to Nokia.

Why are we alarmed for CarrierIQ, when everybody accepts this?

How to make the latest versions of NS work with the N9:

I've seen countless people employ this method, & it's worked for them.

    Or.....

That's all I can recall OTTOMH, there's other options though.

    Having said all this....
I personally prefer web-based synching services.
I don't wear a tinfoil hat too much though... ;-)

Sign of the times I feel.

There are a number of personal "cloud" servers that you run yourself. eg. Funambol

Yep running my own diaspora seed...
I will migrate everything from facebook/google+ soon.
    I can't wait for a N9 diaspora client ;-)

Oopsie, that was just a typo in the topic.

    I think PC Suite doesn't support N9. With N900 it's possible.

jalyst: Thanks so much for the links!

The Windows solution looks a bit dodgy, didn't try it but the plugin for iSync works like a charm. Problem solved!

So the Mac OS X 10.7.4 Lion update has removed iSync. It is said that the old iSync from snow leopard still works on it but will cease to work at some point.

Firstly, any ideas where to download iSync (I don't have any backups AFAIK)?

Secondly, are there any other options?

Now that Nokia Suite supports Nokia N9, if all goes wrong, perhaps using windows virtualization is one possibility.

As for now I downloaded iSync from here: http://imadmalik.com/10/02/isync-for-mac-os-x-lion/

Working fine with N9 and Mac iSync
