Default Flashing N9 firmware without a windows computer

This post is for everyone that owns an N9 and don't want to boot into or doesn't have access to a windows computer to flash the phone. According to comments in this post, there is a version of Navifirm (the nokia firmware image downloader) written in C++ that works on wine.

The project page for Navifirm Ex is here. I can confirm that the software works perfectly fine on linux using wine and I assume it will also work on Mac OS. Oh, and the software works on windows too.

Once the file is downloaded and unzipped, there is no installation necessary. Just run NaviFirmEx.exe, select your Release and Variant and download. Afterwards, use the harmattan flasher to flash the firmware. A quick search on this here forums will turn up more detailed guides on using the flasher once you have the firmware available.

Thanks go to the NaviFirmEx developer and the owner and commenters on karoliinamaemoblog.blogspot.com!

MacOS has a native flasher. Why use a forced Windows version?

Thanks for the info works great on Lion+wine; does anyone knows a mirror for the mac flasher? because when i've tried to download from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php i only get this message:

Duplicate headers received from server
The response from the server contained duplicate headers. This problem is generally the result of a misconfigured website or proxy. Only the website or proxy administrator can fix this issue"
