Hey, just to let folks know, there's another iteration of Pierogi making its way through the system right now. Unfortunately, the Autobuilder is kind of stuck at the moment, so I don't know when (or if) it will reach extras-devel. But in case it does, it includes a first attempt at keysets for Dune, MT-Logic, and Venturer, and some fixes to the Epson keysets.

I highly doubt that the MT-Logic keyset is going to work; the config data I've got just doesn't look right. I'm just not coming up with good data for that brand...

I don't know what the heck was going on with the Epson keysets, they were a real mess. I went ahead and ditched what was projector keyset #1, and promoted #2 up to take its place. I've been able to clean up several keys, and add a lot of new ones. However, there is a problem when it comes to discrete on and off buttons -- I don't yet have a panel that handles them. For now, I've gone ahead and mapped the Epson on key to the green button on the "Utility" panel, and the off key to the red button on that panel. I'll try to come up with a more appropriate UI for discrete commands.

Don't take it as "hostile irony", please - in fact, I pretty well understand your motivations, and Pierogi is one best IR control program for N900, period. I just couldn't stop myself from posting this analogy :P

But, in fact, I really have no intention of creating a "standard" at all.

And really, the LIRC file format doesn't seem to have been designed to become a standard (it's really only become something like that due to the overwhelming popularity of the LIRC project), and the KM & RM formats used by the hifi-remotes guys are meant solely for their own use as well. And, of course, none of the manufacturers want to help out each other in the least. So there's never been a "standard" to begin with.

An update on the issues some folks have been seeing when using Pierogi with certain Sony devices -- during the course of browsing some IR documentation by an expert on Pronto remotes, I came across the following statement:

New epson keyset works great. I can control every one IR device at home with pierogi. Thanks for that.

For the curious, devices are MS MCE PC. Logitech Z5500 speakers, samsung AC, Epson TW700 projector.

And one suggestion, it would be nice if every favorite keyset could remember the last active panel set, so that switching between devices gets a good 3 clicks easier.

That sounds logical, and not too hard to implement either! I'll take a look at adding it in.

Pierogi keeps getting better and better.

Copernicus, the Mitsubishi Projector Set #1 seems to be defective. Almost no keys are enabled, and those which are clickable (like Menu) don't seem to work. Let me know if I can be of assistance helping with this. Thanks!

That would not be a surprise, the data I'm working with is often pretty iffy.

I picked up the data for Mitsubishi projector #1 from an LIRC config file. It purported to be used for an "HD1000" projector, although LIRC config files are entirely unreliable at recording the target device for a given keyset. Can you give me the model number of your device? Maybe I can find a better config... Thanks!

Updated to latest version. Something changed, the buttons work sometimes , it is not 100% reliable but now it is not needed anymore to switch screen off and on again between button presses.
