The N9 should be able to support most of the different forms of Qt, whether you want to do a "Qt Quick" project, a more classic "Qt Widget" project, or something else entirely. Once you've created a project, the SDK will allow you to target the build towards Harmattan (the N9's OS) or towards a desktop application.
You just need to figure out what it is that you want to create...
