Welcome to the forums
Thank you very much for your quick reply.

This too stops downloading after the first 221MB as it is essentially from the same source the link I provided points to.

At first I thought it is an internet connection issue but I tried from both home and work. Does anyone have some other source to try?

Hey, first time posting here, but here goes.
So I fudged up my n9, and now it seems like the only way to get the phone to boot is to flash it. I have followed the instructions listed up to the point where I have to connect my phone to my PC. And this is where things get complicated. When I plug my phone to the PC, my phone tries to boot. Just to clarify, my phones power is off, but when I connect it to my PC it tries to boot itself. Because of this I am unable to flash, and I have absolutely no idea how I should continue.

murhanaama,
Power off your device by holding the power button for 8-10seconds. Plug in your device to your PC only when the command prompt on PC shows the message "Suitable device/phonet not found blabla..."

The flash should now execute successfully.

Also welcome around

Well, I tried to power it down like you said, but it didn't seem to work. The phones LED blinked a couple of times, after which the phone tried to boot itself again :S

EDIT: Well I'm not sure what happened, but I left the phone off for the night, and when I tried to flash it again it succeeded.

I have read the flashing tutorial. I am wondering if I am wasting my time trying to flash the firmware V 40.2012.21-3_PR_003. I am trying to get a western firmware w/ an english base lang. and the missing apps like Skype...etc I have been using a Phoenix/Nokia flasher and have received many flashing errors like firmware older than installed or "flashing failed in recovery" I prefer the Phoenix due to its simplicity, Is the win flasher able to overcome what appears to be a firmware lock inserted from the newer 1.3 firmware?

Has anyone successfully found a workaround to re-flash a Chinese N9 running 1.3 already to a western firmware.
firmwares attempted Singapore,central Europe,Australia,new Zealand,ROW,northern Europe,Ireland.
currently running 059J250, sim tray059M7K1

thanks in advance...

It would be doable with ubiboot.
I have not tried it but there is nothing really preventing you from restoring a clean backup taken from another phone that has been installed with european PR1.3

ubiboot sounds a bit geeky for me. I dont have another N9 to clone or anything running linux.

I saw a post about nemesis software and changing the product code.
then attempt a re flash. does anyone have thoughts on that?

thanks

Hello everyone-

I currently a Cyan Nokia N9 16GB, an unlocked Malaysian variant to be specific. Anyway, I stupidly flashed an incorrect PR 1.3 firmware from 3 in Sweden a few months ago and I've had nothing but problems ever since. Beyond that, I also (stupidly) attempted to change the product code of the phone in order to downgrade the firmware back to the original one.

Long story short, I've continually experienced multiple glitches and problems over the past few months. To begin with, the battery life on the phone since I flashed the new firmware has gone to crap, meaning the phone now lasts then half a day if fully charged. I've also had bugs with my contacts not loading automatically at bootup, the Facebook app not working at all, Wazapp not sending messages, and a whole host of other issues. If anyone has any ideas for how to fix these problems I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

-Sincerely, bobofosho123
