It opens and closes when the status bar says "connecting" for me.
you want to delete the .db file
that's happened with me when i delete the .db file it work fine ,
or i try another one : u can turn off the connection on your phone such as wifi or mobile network and open wazapp
then you will delete the conversation that doesn't important but don't save a lot of chat because this is the reason

IMHO wazapp looks far far better than official whatsapp
I've found some issues in notifications
whatsapp sends notifications 5 times if you don't send a response about you received it. I think I've fixed it in latest version.
But you can still receiving those notifications. That's the problem
Closing/Re-opening or disconnecting/connectiin internet a lot of times will fix it until you don't get duplicates
