Yappari shows pictures assigned to the contacts but that YOU assigned. Pictures from Skype, or GTalk or any other IM integrated in the N900 won't be shown.
A simple way to see the real contact pictures is turning off the IM Availability (signing off) and then to go to your address book. If you assign a picture there then Yappari will show that.
Anyway that's just temporary until the Whatsapp profile pictures is implemented (but if a contact hasn't configured a picture in Whatsapp Yappari will show the contact address book pic).
Yes i totally understand that Yappari only shows contact pics that I have assigned (hey I've been a regular reader of the thread you know, all 249 pages of it) and I was talking also about the pics I have assigned
they appear in the Yappari contact list but not in the chat log under main window.
I know its a tiny problem..but I was just wondering why it happens and if anything can be done to rectify it.

That's because those chats were open before the contacts were synchronized. Close the chats and open them again.
no, Yappari donīt asks to register again. is as if i had done nothing.. and how i ask again for my country code and number?
I can't help you any further. If I delete the yappari.conf file (I just tried) and then start Yappari it asks me for a country code and a phone number.
So you're doing something wrong (you are NOT deleting the file properly). The first page says Yappari is for experienced N900 users only, maybe Yappari is not for you yet.
a_valenz, maybe you are not closing Yappari. If you simply close his window, it remains open in status bar. You have to press in Yappari menu in his main Window, and then press "Quit" button. Then remove yappari.conf and start it again. If you make it correctly and it doesn't work, your mobile does magic XD.
