Did you use a File Manager or did you try to navigate to that folder in a terminal shell (ie. BusyBox)? The .config is a hidden folder. You really should wait for a release proper if you do not know what I am asking. We can try to help you, but you must understand what we say. Perhaps you have a friend that uses linux that can help you?

    Okay, here's the update.

Got Yappari running fine. Received some message from unknown contacts, and those messages are shown properly on the main screen. Everything seems normal, but after a while Yappari suddenly closes and next time I run Yappari these messages won't be shown anymore.
BTW this is not group message.

About Yappari suddenly closes, since the latest update seems to log more technical details, here's some info that you might be interested with
    Code:
    Obtained 4 stack frames
    /usr/bin/Yappari [0x48afc]
    /usr/bin/Yappari(_ZN22QDBusAbstractInterface20callWithArgumentListEN5QDBus8CallModeERK7QStringRK5QListI8QVariantE+0x80c) [0x1637c]

    /usr/bin/Yappari(_ZN9QListData6insertEi+0x38) [0x15dc4]
    Application destroyed
If you want the full log, please let me know and how you'd prefer to send the log (it's 170kB in size) and I'll send it to you.

thanks for the good stuff Scorpius!

an issue (?) i'd like to report:
quite often, messages i post have a gray tick mark.
it doesn't turn green and recipient doesn't c the message.
status of yappari still says logged in.
yappari logs simply indicate a message sent without any errors or warnings.
and my gprs connection is okay too.
at least, messages posted using pidgin that time r still ok.
    is it a known issue?

btw, can move stuff from ~/.config/scorpious to ~//.yappari pls?

also, would b great if u could still allow manual config of imsi n imei for yappari login. that way, i could use a prepaid card overseas but still receive whatsapp messages designated for my original phone number.

    many thanks.
    kh

That's normal behavior. Yappari doesn't have persistent contact list, so if Yappari closes for any reason your "unknown contacts" won't appear again.

You'll have to wait for contact synchronization to be implemented to see some chat persistence.

About the "disappearing bug" I'm working on it, but I haven't found the reason yet.

Gray means that Yappari sent the message but the Whatsapp servers hasn't send the acknowledge back. Eventually they send it. Sometimes Whatsapp servers are pretty busy. It has happened to me like once or twice.

Anyway Whatsapp can send SMS to most countries so usually when people don't get the SMS is because they are entering the phone number in the wrong format, mostly because they don't know which is the correct format of their own number that international users need to know to send an SMS.

So 99% chances are you are entering the phone number in a local format (with a leading zero for example: 0234 4237898) or something like that.
SCORPIUS, i just type +852(HONG KONG) XXXXXXXX
and i have registered whatsapp by using another phone already...it is work on another phone

    Hello Scorpius,

Just wanna say you a big Thank you!! for Yappari. I love the N900 and the only thing I was missing is Whatsapp. I'm not a "fan" of applications like this but my brother and a lot of friends use it to not have to pay for SMS. So thanks for making the N900 even more complete and perfect.

After using 0.0.10 I installed 0.0.13 and the Protocol error appeared, uninstalling Yappari and a new fresh install of 0.0.13 and registering again solved the problem.

I'even received a message from the Whatsapp server with information about the new version of Whatsapp being available to download lol.

Keep up the good work. Thanks, saludos.

You didn't need to uninstall it, you just had to register again, quitting the program and restarting would have been enough.

I would like to see the log with that message about a new version of Whatsapp... never happened to me.

That's very interesting... I wonder where the servers get the version from.
