And it happened again:
I did set my SUPL server to google, but found it reset to nokia somehow. So I set it again.
And just checked once more and it was again reset to nokia. WTF?
I have no idea why and when atm. Anybody?

So everybody having issues with AGPS, better check SUPL server settings again.

OMG! and that was before a lot of people's warranties were up and everything! Probably explains why the OP was having troubles!

How can one use a proxy and/or strip the device ID info when connecting to the GPS. Surely, when using a cellular signal, one just had to rely on the provider? I can't see any additional settings in the GPS dialogue - am I missing something.

Apart from Nokia being rear-ends about this, and blocking perfectly legitimate users, I'd rather send as little info as possible when seeking a position.

I found the cause (which I suspected, but could not proove until now):
after a crash (unexpected reboot) this setting is reset to supl.nokia.com "automagically"
