Hhahaahahahaa
Canada + Climate Change (good or bad effects) = Charlie Sheen ( WINNING!! )
CAN-A-DA!
CAN-A-DA!
I told youse guyses...
Canada ...place to be baby...
so what if a cauliflower is $8.00 a head right now...
that'll change...
we'll either grow our own food once more...
or more likely not bother...and let the price skyrocket to $40.00 a head.
Price can be season related? And if fewer buying instead buying something else the price will drop?
We also import lots of food. Price goes up for imported stuff but salaries goes up too. But we usually buying local stuff instead especially during simmer.
"We" don't grow our own food anymore.
Conglomerates grow it.
A few hobby farms grow it on the very small scale and sell it for exorbitant prices. (A joke really)
What is grown is shipped abroad for processing.
The last fruit and vegetable processing and canning plant in Canada closed back in 2008.
In all of North America there is only 1 such plant left...
In California.
Oh no nonnono Dave....
When the pundits say:
"North America has 3 days of food goods stockpiled at their distribution and warehouse centers ..and a serious breakdown in the supply chain (due to inclement weather, natural disaster, economic forces, hostile terrorist action, etc...) can effectively take out the entire system causing absolute systemic collapse..."
They aren't joking.
We are that screwed here.
I know that when there is foul weather on the coast preventing shipping to the island...
or when there are storms in the Rocky Mountains preventing freight from crossing over to B.C....
after the 2nd day... the store shelves are starting to look pretty bare.
after the 3rd day of such a situation it is beginning to look grim ...
No my good friend it isn't a good situation here...
it is a very delicate one.
Created to cut costs and overhead...
It doesn't bode well...
Dragons?
Saw one the other day...
just gotta get away from the cities ...
they are there...
