Edit:Open kernel is nessesary for Easy Debian?;-)
Easy Debian Harmattan needs Inception or Open Mode Kernel. For both cases, "opensh" package is needed to be installed. See 1st post, item B1 for using Inception, or post #154 for using Open Mode Kernel.

I have the same (Russian) locale in Debian as I do in Meego, but when I try to type in OOWriter, nothing comes out, I try English and Russian keyboards (no bluetooth)

    N9
    PR1.3

Follow the 1st tip of FAQ #7 :
    * Disable the MeeGo option "Settings->Time and language->Text input->Error correction" so all softwares inside LXDE will show text as its typed with the virtual keyboard.

Another thing to try : choose English as language on MeeGo & Debian to see if the vkb work.

Does the vkb work for other Debian softwares (Leafpad, gedit, etc) ?

    I did FAQ#7, no go.

When I choose English, vkb works, only for English language

It does not work on anything in Debian.

I was thinking its because of individual program localisation, downloaded my language for icedove iceweasel and openoffice

But I don't know how to install, or what to do with .gz to test it out.

Maybe other russian users can give some hint about this issue.

If Leafpad, gedit, etc, don't have vkb working, then I think it is a system related issue.

VKB works in the other programs, but not when Meego is set on Russian.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Also,

Icedove seems to conect to gmail for me, but I can't send messages or save to draft.

I get this error when I open it

Im guessing I didn't do this
"Easy Debian needs a Debian image (ext2 or ext3 type) in "/home/user/MyDocs" and named "debian*.img*". You need 3GB (or more) available on "MyDocs" partition."
    How do I do this?

Your last screenshot is ok, it clearly shows the image "debian-m5-v3e-Sci-2GB.img.ext2" is mounted and chrooted. So, it is nonsense to ask "How do I do this", you've already done it.

icedove shows a problem with your locale (language).

    Hi,

i have a problem installing aegisctl. It says that it needs kernel 2.6.32.20115101+0m7 but I have only 2.6.32-20112910+0m6. How can I install a newer kernel version without upgrading to PR1.3?

I do not understand why "aegistctl" is needed at all. I suppose all it does is to
    Code:
    echo 0 > /sys/kernel/security/validator/enforce
    or similar.
