convert it to 720p LOWPROFILE dude, and you will be happy, or upgrade your gpu, do it at your own risk

Please can you give me further info on upgrading my GPU? Any how-to's or youtube links would be great.

I am pretty handy with a soldering iron.

    Thanks

Afaik, SoC = processor+gpu are one package , cmiiw

so we unable to do that, if that can happen, i will upgrade my ram or gpu on n900 first,

So where can I get a guide on SOC replacement? I will do that instead.

    I have solder.

You can't just take the motherboard apart, cram in a new SoC (even if you were able to get your hands on one and the pins fitted) and expect it to work. That's why these are called embedded systems.
Off-topic: Also, Broadcom produces arguably superior (but more tightly integrated?) GPUs than Imagination Technologies. Too bad they're coupling it with that joke of a CPU but hey, maybe they'll upgrade the design some time?

    OK thanks.

How about fitting a complete mobo from another phone, say a Nexus?

    I have de-soldering braid too

Video decoding should mainly happen on the DSP.

I think the GPU is not the bottleneck here.

Even if the DSP is capable (I'm not sure), we still need decoders which are unfortunately not available.

dsp depends on the gpu here, and dsp in n9 is pure ****, even VIAs dsp working on 350MHz beats the crap out of one in n9 working on 800MHz

Although the nexus uses the chip that should have been in our N9. It wont work due to driver issues.

Its an awful lot of hassle. Just use the Nexus lol

DSP is bundled with the whole soc.

Why is VAs dsp better ?

A lot of improvements could have been done but you know what happened
