I have been living with the Note for a couple of weeks now.
From an IT persons perspective I can just barely get the sort of things done that I want and took for granted on the N900, OpenVPN, VNC, RDP, SSH, for instance all have just barely working versions which can be found if one looks hard enough through the Android store.
No hardware keyboard suks! I can't run PHP and many other little annoyances, such as having to sell your soul to Google are only just balanced by the larger screen, the nearly functional pen and most of the Angry birds series, without which I would not have tried to use it as a primary device at all.
Whilst not "Open" like the N900 it is certainly more "Open" when compared to devices such as the iPhone or WP8 neither of which are serious contenders.
The N900 is perfect for my use and the Note is missing many of the features I take for granted on the N900.
But for now I will struggle on with the Note but only so I can use the time to upgrade my trusty N900 to CSSU, now if it only had a bigger screen what a perfect device that would be!

Well for me a smartphone is a hackers tool, you know, kind of swiss army way of thinking. A closed ecosystem & OS kind of kill all the benefits you can get from it.
So, unless you can flash it with an open OS, it's no fun and no use for me.
the only way i would entertain a 920 is if Nokia give me one free then i will sell it and use the money to buy whatever Jolla bring to the market other wise i will continue using my N9, 808 and N950 which should last me a good few years until Jolla get there products perfected.
