Ok I have been playing around with the OS on the mmc but now I no longer want to do that. So questions is how to do I get my card back to the way it was? Do I just sfdisk it?

Open File Manager. In the Main Menu, choose Memory Card > {proper MMC} > Format.

    -T.

Well I think mine is done for cause both options are greyed out. So it looks like my ebay card went bad

Don't imediately blame the memory card. My N800 fried 3 2gb sandisk ultra cards. There is a bugzilla on this issue

Wait a mo - if I read your first post correctly, you're booting off the MMC, right? In which case you will not be able to format it from File Manager. You basically want to start from scratch with a fresh flash to the internal memory (not MMC) - am I understanding that correctly? I don't think there's an easy way to reverse the offloading of the boot partition to a MMC card.

You'll have to boot from the internal flash, THEN reformat the card.
I think. I kind of like having a massive 7GB filesystem myself...

So you're using a new 8Gb SDHC card? May I ask what brand? I'm really tempted to get one but it represents a not inconsiderable investment and the stories regarding failures leave me a little hesitant. Just for compatibility info , I have a N800 with the latest OS, booting from a internal 2Gb card.

No I was booting off 2 GB memory card but I am no longer. I am booting off internal flash memory.

hehe - sorry jrock, my comment and question was to iball

As long as you have nothing on your card or N800 that you want to keep, my advice would be to reflash the device with the latest OS. In that way, you can start from scratch and put the MMC booting behind you

yeah that is what I did. I tried another flash card and that is not showing up either. I think I have to reflash 2007HE again
