ok i have an n900 in warranty that has what seems to be a broken screen ribbon.

has anyone sent theirs off for this or another problem recently?

what i want to know is will they repair it or will they just replace it with a new phone? (hoping for the latter)

They'll probably replace it, though I doubt you'd get a newer model in return.

yeah but i bet it was a broken usb tommo not a simple screen repair.

looks like they will fix it then and send it back in its battered state. was hoping for a lumia or 808. oh well.

Got a replacement in August 2012 (fault with USB and screen). If you are still in warranty, you may well get a swap - if not, no chance! If you're sending it in for a warranty repair/swap, make sure you include a note requesting a call, should the service centre not be able to repair or replace like-for-like.

    Good luck.

the N8 is to this day a very capable smartphone in almost all departments.

few phones ,even in 2012, manage to gather all its tech features.

It may be THE best Nokia smartphone ever made. Up there along with the N95, the N93, the 808 PV and the 7650
