Hello everyone, I'd like to reset and update (if possible) my N900. My current firmware is 20.2010.36-2.203.1
I tried downloading ovi suite but it doesn't seem to work with my N900. Can anyone please help me out?
I also tried this but it's down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMHxo1ALXNE (CSSU)

What you want is all on this page for udating your firmware be sure to read it very clearfully and follow the instructions precisely. If you get stuck post back here explaining where you got stuck and how it happened if you can(be sure to attach any error msgs) and I will help you best I can or maybe someone else. There's a lot of knowledge around here and people are genuinely helpful. Best of luck

Ok I already reset'd the eMMC a while ago using the flasher method but now for example the flasher download link is offline and I didnt find it in the mirror. How can i update to CSSU? Also if soneone gives me the flasher download link I'll do the combined reset as well..
Ive one last question, my device is italian, therefore last time I used the flasher I used the global version, is that the right one to use?
Sorry for any mistake and sorry for noob-ness in this field

Here http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/maemo_dev_env_downloads/ you will find the flasher utility.
The firmware files are here http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/nokia_N900/

For CSSU go to the wiki page http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU with your N900's web browser and tap the stable or testing logo. This will download the install file, that opens Hildon Application Manager to add repo and packages.

Okay just got back at home.
I'm trying to flash both combined and vanilla.. This is what I did, downloaded the flash utility, downloaded the global pr 1.3 version since my device is italian (Did I download the right one?) and the latest vanilla one, then openend cmd as administrator, pasted the two bin files in the flasher folder, navigated to it and used the command in the guide but nothing happens when I try to flash rootfs of fiasco image: http://i.imgur.com/wdwSiiu.png
Just tried reflashing eMMC and everything goes fine but when I try to flash the fiasco image with the rootfs command (flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin --flash-only=rootfs -f) it works only after it reboots which is not normal..
I also found the latest version of the flasher fpr anyone who needs it: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/9/....5_2.5.2.2.zip

Just tried using the normal command to flash fiasco images (flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R) and device reboots but nothing happens, and if I re-try after the reboot to flash the fiasco image this is what I get this (http://i.imgur.com/NYPT71t.png) and Im only able to flash rootfs after the reboot but obviously nothing works and If I do it before the reboot I get this: http://i.imgur.com/wdwSiiu.png as usual.
If someone can help it'd be great

Which PC OS are you using. There are some caveats in some of Microsofts products...

Sometimes it helps to manually unload the USB driver
There are some workarounds described in the lower part of the windows section of the wiki article on flashing.

Usually there are better results when using linux when flashing You could even use some Debian or Ubuntu based Live-CD. Like this great distro from some italian folks http://semplice-linux.sourceforge.net/

I got it working somehow; by the way I was using windows 8 x86. I think everything went fine, I flashed eMMC first and the fiasco rootfs
Turned it on today and everything worked! Thanks for everything really!!
Now I'm installing the latest FW http://d.pr/i/VpV8 with nokia ovi suite, for anyone needing it here's it is: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/p...900/downloads/
