    Hello,

my stock Nokia N9 wired earpiece is about to die, and I am looking into a replacement. Ideally, I would love a wired earpiece that is suitable for running but for normal urban life, i.e. something that allows to calls with answer button.

    Do you have any recommendation?

    Thanks a lot!

    Paolo

I don't have a specific recommendation but I can advise you to stay away from the ones Nokia makes. I've changed 3 the last 1 year and a half all horrible. I found peace with a bluetooth one

I think that there are many good earpieces, but how many allow pickup/end call and play/pause music on the N9 is a different game... Could you share the brand of your bluetooth earpiece? Can it control calls & music player?

Not a wired suggestion, but you should try out the sony MW600 bluetooth stereo headset,

    pros:
    >It works with the N9, the media controls and call answer/reject works.
    >Audio quality and range is good.
    >Supports 3 devices.
    >Has inbuilt FM.
    >Is not as expensive(at about $50)
    >If you have a black N9 then the Black Mw600 looks surprisingly similar to the N9, it also comes in white.

    Cons:
    >It only shows numbers, and doesn't show contact names.
    >As with any bluetooth device, it needs to be charged, but the battery will last longer on a charge than your phone battery.
    >It has a stereo jack so you can plug in your own headset to it, the bluetooth has its own mic.
    >The volume control is touch sensitive(and its sensitive), if its in contact with your skin anywhere your volume keeps rockin
    >The batteries will eventually wear out and you'll have to replace the device. I believe there's no user replacable batteries.

I have a wired remote that goes between headphones and my n9 that has lots of controls and a mic.

These are the headphones I use. Sennheiser CX310

Here is the remote. I cant find a model number though.

@danested: thanks for the suggestion, it looks quite good and fitting for the N9. How does the earpiece feels when doing physical activity? From the pictures it looks like it could slip out your ear fairly easily.

Also, how heavy is the control part?

@DJJonosound: sure, I am curious to see your solution!

I'm using a Nokia WH-205. The one that came with my good old N900 recently died, so I got a replacement one for €7,50 or so, very cheap and works ok.

    Try the Nokia WH-701.

This earphones are included at my n9 and work very well (microphone, music control buttons and call buttons are included). On ebay this earphones costs about 7€-14€.

Paolo, they fit in well enough, I havent had problems with them falling off as they fit well.

However, since it has a standard 3.5mm audio jack, you can fit any other stamdard headphones to them that you like.

BTW for clarity's sake, I'd like to mention that the actual bluetooth part of the MW600 with the controls is something you have to clip on to your clothes, like the BH-111, which is another thing you can look at.

Its been a long time since I gymmed I'm hoping to rejoin this week, I can tell you more about how well it fits during activities then.
