250 is an underestimation, guess 1500 would be a better approx.
I have pretty hard time believing that you could name 1500 useful applications for any given mobile platform. Not even, if you count games (and I don't really count games as useful applications...)

250 is about the max anyone can imagine... IMHO.

Totally true. N900 proved it. I ask Jolla just one thing: less interest in social crap and more dedication to things that really matter.

In light of the recent security leaks, an easy way to send/receive encrypted emails and messages would be nice.

Besides, I'd like to see someone who can install 1500 applications on their personal device and remember the 1500 names

The only app I can think of that's missing in Post #1 is an Audible app.
I don't have an Audible subscription yet, but i would if there was a client for N900... ;-)

Other than that, the list is more than complete for me.

Most important for me (in more or less random order):
    - good offline navigation
    - good office suite
    - spotify client incl. offline playlists (Meespot seems to do...)
    - dictionary for several languages
    - usable linux shell with functionalities like ssh server and client,... (I hope this is really part of the basic OS)
    - music player which supports gapless playback
    - fahrplan or similar app for public transport schedule

    +1 for Audible app

but i'm afraid, this will not happen, as they stated clearly, they will not support DRM.
Workaround could be the Android-App, but i wonder if Android-apps, relying on DRM will work on a device, that does not support DRM? Will it work in the virtual environment?

There was a similar workaround for N900, using Garnet VM.

*Waze (A current one because the port is a little outdated with new features)
*Kall (Be able to control how long a call can last and re-dial after this time has expired)
    *Firestarter (Amazon Kloud Reader)
    *Converter (currency, weight, temperature,length, etc)
    *Track & protect
*Wifi Management (be able to see the passwords of the added wifi's)
    *Countdown
*PC Remote control (via BT or wifi)
    *Tips (Tip calculator)
*PinIt! Lists (Todo, shopping, etc list)
Ok, about the third one Firestarter I've been pointed out that it has changed the name to Erudite and here is the link to the developer page http://meego.mikeasoft.com/erudite/ so it would be nice to see this one ported to Sailfish.

From the dev, Elleo, in this very thread:

250 useful apps, 250 games, 2250 clones of those games, 250 fart apps. That's about 3000. The rest are "apps" to access a specific website.
