Where did I state that you can fix a hardware problem with software? Are you stupid or you lack the sense of understanding a phrase? Hardware problems can't be fixed with software BECAUSE to run the software you need that HARDWARE, it's logical.

Yes a simple fix that can break his device.

This thread is not about reflashing. JTag vs. MXKey is just another fanboyism so keep your opinions for yourself if you're not willing to make a tutorial about how to use a MXKey.

So you choose to solder wires and not use the service pins, you are not a "technician" as you state you are, I am sorry buddy.

For your personal knowledge, activate english on your computer, activate auto-correct or suggestions.

The internet have a rule, pics or didn't happen (I still don't understand why didn't you reply yet in the Windows 8 RT thread, maybe BECAUSE OF THE PICS I POSTED?). I don't really think you are a technician. If I would give you a phone for repair, and you would do stuff like this, the next place we will meet would be the court. I really pity your customers.

Don't use a hair dryer--its heat can fry your phone's insides.
Even a air gun can make some damage.
I hate to break it to you but a hair dryer is MUCH gentler on circuits than a soldering iron or hot air gun. You might not realize that hot air guns are often used to desolder SMD parts. Hair dryer, especially on a low setting or from a distance, is a safe way to dry a board. Of course you need to disassemble the phone first. Otherwise you will just uselesly melt the plastic whilest leaving the inside still wet.

After 38% alcohol every nurse is hot! Seriously, think about it. What makes the remaining 62% in 38% alcohol? Yes, you've guessed it - water! Distilled water that is, so you are right about no residues but you still need to dry it properly first. Higher concentration alcohol or even better propylalcohol or even acetone are better though.

I ignored the remaining two pages of ad hominem psts so sorry if I repeat what's already been said.

Mine got wet too...what I didn't describe there was that the phone seemed to work and boot up ok, but the screen was unreadable so it couldn't be interacted with (at least not the usual way, i.e. without SSH & friends).
