Wazapp 0.9.20nightly24 seems to have more stable consumption then higher nightlies or .21 (haven't tested .22 yet)...
also, and this is VERY IMPORTANT in order to have stable consumption - be sure that when You hide wazapp app after reading or sending message to go back to the chats tab, not hiding it when inside one particular chat tab with one of Your contacts or group.
even MORE IMPORTANT: do not leave wazapp message unread from within the app!! We are able to read new wazapp message on the lock screen, so many people read the message that way and leave it unread from within the app (the green badge stays on message icon) - by doing this consumption goes doubled, or even tripled…
You are able to check both of this important tips in Battery Usage app (Audio process is the guilty one)
and once You are aware of all of that - uninstall Battery usage app if You had it installed in the first place - it really drains the battery
