I tried that too, but its not loading the captcha, says network not available. Same comments in the Jolla store.
Enable and connect with WLAN. Short version: there seems to be some kind of detection bug releated network connections. Connecting with WLAN seems to fix it, at least temporarily.
Anyone with a Jolla Phone tried to root the phone yet?
Regarding AlienDalvik - to use XPrivacy with the XPosed Framework you'd normally have to root the phone first.
How/Does this work with the Jolla phone - someone would try it out pls?
Is the Facebook implementation into the OS selectable at first install or is it intractable bound to Sailfish?
What are the built-in options that we have for PIM-syncing?
- calendar
- contacts
- tasks
- mail
- rsync for files
Which sync protocols are supported out of the box, which ones can be added by applications? It would be nice to have an overview of these things. To be honest, I don't have a very clear picture of how this works in general: do some syncing protocols need to be supported be the OS, or can any kind of syncing be just added by an app? For instance, if Jolla won't make DAV support (webdav, caldav, carddav), does that mean we're stuck with other protocols, or can we just build some apps to support it?
Nokia used to have Mail for Exchange or Ovi sync (discontinued and never worked well) built in - both not exactly awesome, but in some videos I've seen Exchange is still one of the first apps you can install.
2. This is a trickier one: can the browser open pages over SSL with ident authentication? (N9 couldn't in its first version, and could in its second; iOS/Android failed miserably when I last tested).
If you launch the messaging app and swipe away and relaunch, you will only get 1 window.
If you launch the messaging app and open some contacts messages, and then swipe away and relaunch from icon, you will get a new windows. You can keep doing this with as many contacts on N9 to have their message windows open so you can switch between them. I leave the message window open for the people I message often so I can switch to them easily.
Edit: I always hoped if the email client also allowed us to do it, but it does not on N9.
This is bloody amazing??
Could you believe me if I told you that I've had N9 for over 2 years and this is the first time I noticed that it does that??
I have always came up to the "message chains level" before swiping away from it so I never noticed it can actually do this!!!

The mass-storage you see is a fake mass-storage profile to trick the PC into providing 500mA to charge. Otherwise there is no way to charge for sure when connected.
If you install developer mode you will also get an RNDIS device with ssh.
Unfortunately mass-storage is a pain to work with and as such has not been retained. However it should not be insanely hard to get it to work with a fat formatted SD-card in the device.
Yes, that is true and I hate the USB-export feature with all my heart, unless used for very specific tasks like installing boot environment on a partition
The reason why it is so discusting is that if a partition is offred for low-level mounting outside the device it has to be umounted inside the device for the duration, or there'll be data inconsistency.
Making sure this works is overly complicated, you need a specific daemon to handle it and signal applications to pull out from the disk before it's umounted, or else deny the operation, and so on...
It is error prone and unnecessary since you can always use sftp/rcp/nfs/samba/whatever to transfer data over network instead.
