    I would think you could do this using xgamma, if there was a port of it for maemo. In debian, it is included in the x11-server-utils package.

    you can do something quite cool with this which I found out by accident . do this:

    1. open kmplayer and play a video (doesn't work with mplayer or other)

    2. open xterm and make sure it's inverted colors/black background

    3. type ./nlcdtest 20 25 40 140

    4 enjoy

    I wonder why? kmplayer is "just" a front-end for mplayer, isn't it?

    Yes, that's the one that talks about a transparent image overlay;
    the other main thread goes into detail about changing values in a
    mce file, but I think it's for n9/harmattan, and not n900/fremantle.

    If that's correct, inking the bare surface may be a bad idea. I thought
    the digitizer might be under, or even melted into, glass.

    Is there not a tinted screen protector available?

    It is - "melted" into plastic/glassy thing. You won't damage it by inking the surface, it just sound a little... Harsh, for a surface, that you can't replace without replacing whole digitizer.

    elros34 I was wondering if you still have the source for your nlcdtest application, would you share it?

    (Sorry for reviving ancient thread)
