edit: Others have just brought this to my attention. I am curious...I didn't know this going to be shut down...
Was there mention somewhere that skeiron was going to be closed down?

skeiron has no affiliation to maemo.org

Hmm ...after looky-looing around and reading reading reading....I see the issue is bigger than simply the skeiron mirror.

yes, but is skeiron related to Nokia?
I assumed this site was probably from one of the devs here.

both tablets-dev and skeiron going down is quite bad..

skeiron is unaffiliated and we shouldn't expect it to reappear.

The important issue is Nokia has removed tablets-dev and will probably soon do the same to downloads.maemo.nokia.com/

Seems there are two options:

1. Bug Nokia and hope (probably in vain) that they will bring up these resources again, or perhaps Hildon Foundation acquires the rights to host these resources themselves.

2. Someone sets up an unofficial mirror and these files are available via the "grey net".

1) HiFo won't be given the rights AFAIK.

2) Remember its Microsoft who will now be going after the host not Nokia so the usual T&Cs apply...

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Nokia has their own butt to cover as well. There are third parties (Adobe, TI, and others) that would be less likely to sign on to future deals if Nokia doesn't follow up on their side of legal obligations. Also, those third parties themselves could go after things themselves. That's always been a concern, and will continue to be.

I don't understand : who was in charge of skeiron.org ?
I've seen, on skeiron.org, there were mirrors of other repositories, and not only the ones from Nokia, so it's shouldn't be related to Nokia.

Now that it's down, is there an other way to download deb files of applications that can be found only on the Ovi Store ?
And how can I do a mirror of the Nokia repositories ?
