I'm down. Connection info just tells: "Status: Fehler" (state: error).

OK, so based on that thread from whatsapp-purple it might be a good idea to bump the (reported) client version from:

    "S40-2.12.82-443"

    to

    "S40-14.26-443"

I wasn't able to find the Whatsup source repository , so I made this change by hex-editing /opt/whatsup/bin/whatsup, but it made no difference. I closed Whatsup in order to prevent getting blocked. Once I saw it was working again for other people:

I opened (the unpatched) Whatsup and it worked again for me too.

I think it's already been established that Whatsup (sadly) isn't open sourced, so that's probably why you cannot find the source code repository.

The reason it would be a good idea to change it (even if things currently work) is that keeping the version up to date with the latest released whatsapp version makes it more difficult for whatsup to get stuck if they deprecate earlier versions.

BTW, a feature that might be useful would be to have "reported version", "newest whatsapp version", "whatsup version" and "newest whatsup version" all listed in the about dialog, and to nudge the user whenever there's a new release of whatsup.

Replying to myself -- it seems that the latest version of yowsup uses:

    2.12.89

So that might be more relevant.

Tried to hex edit /usr/bin/whatsup but no difference.

//EDIT: Oh whoops, was talking about the Jolla version. Sorry.
