I vote for #7, imaginaryenemy. I don't know why but I like the composition. And it reminds me of similar things I see when I take my kids to the woods around here.

Nice subject, nice use of focus, pleasing composition.

I've gotta go for #6, Pichlo. I like it for being a very colorful and interesting image, and for showing a product that is unfinished -- for some reason, I think that provides a better sense of the image being that of a "hobby". (But I'm hoping he does complete it someday!)

I agree it was a difficult topic due to deciding what to do, it could have been any of my hobbies...
From computing to electronics, mountain biking, motorcycling, walking, music, the list goes on...

I was actually holding out to get a cool macro effect shot from my local bouldering centre, I have been working round the clock for the last few week, so not been down there.
