I just bought a dlink DBT-122 USB bluetooth adapter.

install drivers etc everything fine, pair it to N800 and bascailly cant do anything with my N800. No profiles are supported! geez....when i try from the N800 i can see the bluetooth device and if i try to click on it to view contents "unable to connect to remote device"

another thing i find wierd is that i could only pair the device from my N800, not the other way around.

i want to be able to use my Bluetooth as an internet connection for my n800 as there is no WIFI at my work and want to get online from there.

anyone have any suggestions?

I don't think the N800 offers any profiles - it's not meant to be the "remote" device but I could be wrong, so don't worry too much about that (at most it might support OBEX push/pull, or you can add this profile with a download).

There's a bug which affects hidden phones - maybe this is the problem with your dongle? What profiles does your dongle support?

Your dongle needs to support the Bluetooth DUN (Dial Up Networking) profile which allows your N800 to establish a connection to the internet (your PC must be able to route traffic between the dongle and the internet). Since DUN is more suited to a phone, your dongle may offer the PAN (Personal Area Network) profile instead which isn't natively supported by the N800, however there are several hacks around - search the forum - which may (or may not) provide a suitable workaround.

cool thanks for the response milhouse.

I will def check the forums out, the bluetooth
dongle i bought pretty much supports all the profiles [dun, pan, audio, lan network]. It
would be nice to get the PAN going, as we dont currently have wifi in our office and
desperately want to get it online.

I've also had no luck with my 8800 (rogers wireless) , but i know thats a security thing on the bb's part.
