Re: Sticky slider hardware issue

Your just going to have to use your common sense on this one. Take the screen assembly apart and visually inspect the mechanism and work out what the problem is.

I had a similar sounding problem....

Re: It's not fair, I wanna develop too

I have Easy Debian installed on my n900.

I removed openoffice from and installed Qtdesigner instead and it works with the current version of the qt bindings too.

As a webbie, you might also be interested in QtWRT. It is still in the experimental stage (it is in the dev repositories), but it will let you write in HTML/CSS/Javascript and easily package it into...

Re: It's not fair, I wanna develop too

+1 on zimon's advice. Except maybe for graphics or CPU-intensive apps, there is no reason nowadays to suffer through C++ just to get stuff done.

(Notice I didn't say "simple stuff": Python + Qt...

Re: It's not fair, I wanna develop too

I would recommend the Python route. You'll get more done in less time and PyQT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PyQt) is great. You will get compatibility with Symbian^3, Meego, MS Windows and Desktop...

If you plan to code in C++, start by downloading the Nokia QT SDK here (http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/e920da1a-5b18-42df-82c3-907413e525fb/Nokia_Qt_SDK.html) and reading through the...

Re: WinXP 32b wont let me transfer large files to n900

Well im not sure. Haven't acually tryed. But your best bet would be to format it to NTFS. And if it won't work, you can always reformat it to FAT32.
P.S. Back up everything you have in your card. :)

Re: WinXP 32b wont let me transfer large files to n900

It's because the ~27GB memory is formatted in FAT32, which only supports files =<4GB. Don't know if its possible to format it to NTFS without bad things happen(probably not).

Re: WinXP 32b wont let me transfer large files to n900

The filesystem in N900 is fat32, so you wont be able to transfer a file bigger than 4gb into the N900.

Re: My n900 web browser doesn't link phone# anymore.

Re: N900: browser clickable phone numbers?

You should start X Terminal and do "leafpad /home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js" to edit the existing prefs.js directly, rather than what you were trying to do which would have wiped and replaced it....

Re: My n900 web browser doesn't link phone# anymore.

You don't even have to mess around with X Terminal, when you type about:config to your browser it opens a fully graphical site to edit the two values.
