Re: Modest fixes
Seems that modest from PR1.3 finally addresses all the issues I had a fix for, so there is no need to install my package anymore. Even the problem, where mail was redundantly checked for more than...

Re: Modest fixes
The tar.gz is just an archive, like .zip file. When you unpack it to root directory, you are in fact just overwriting some modest related system files. It has no effect on package database, so dpkg...

Re: N900 pulseaudio consumes up to 1/4 cpu
I'd like to find some way to get rid of pulseaudio too. I can't use skype really, audio is choppy to the point I want to throw the phone out of the window. pulseaudio takes 35% cpu @600mhz both with...

Re: Modest fixes
Does it cause any problems or is it just an unnecessary command before the connection gets closed ?

Re: Would you miss the Council if it was gone?
I know it is wontfix and meego will have better drivers, but the question remains. Unofficial backport may be possible and I'm certainly willng to give it a try, but it is a thing which should really...

Re: Would you miss the Council if it was gone?
Is the issue with N900 video drivers (no vsync, no buffer swaps) something that community council can handle, I mean to get the wontfix resolutions removed from relevant bugs in bugs.maemo.org?

Re: [ANN.] Extended Locked Media Player Control
Hehe the rant part was funny, although I did not like attack on texrat tbh. To everybody wondering why the community is not eager to develop for N900, here are my main reasons, why I have lost all...

No, my changes are not in git, but both problems, should be resolved there already. Performance improvement patch, which is basically one liner to disable redundant mail checks, could be pushed to...

Re: Modest fixes
:) I would very much like to see these fixed, too, but unfortunately, GPU drivers are closed source. And besides, broken vsync is not the only problem, real buffer swaps are missing too (emulated...

Re: Modest fixes
This is probably caused by the fact that modest stays connected to the mail server after send/receive (until server times out and disconnects it).

Make sure you are in the same directory where you copied the .tar.gz file. Type ls in terminal window, to see the files in current directory. Type pwd to display the path of the current directory....

It is best to open a bug (or vote on existing one) for such things at bugs.maemo.org and hope the devs will make the necessary changes. I'm sorry, but I do not have time to look into those issues,...

Re: Modest fixes
When I have time, I'll update bugzilla and explain what was causing POP3 mailboxes not to refresh. My patch is more like a hack, maybe modest/tinymail devs will implement it properly.
