Re: Power Button Not Working for Nokia N9
Yeah I know what you mean. If it's any consolation to you (probably isn't), N9 is some 11 years old. I have one Garmin cycling computer, top of the line, only 4.5 years old, the on/off button...

Re: Power Button Not Working for Nokia N9
Of course there is, you need to be root though.
devel-su
this grants you the root access, careful what you do when you're root
enter your root password, and then
/sbin/reboot
or
/sbin/shutdown...

Re: Is Nemo very buggy?
Hey there... Judging by this link here:
https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nemo#How_to_try
it looks to be possible to try it out in Virtualbox, so why not give it a go, and see how it behaves there?...

Re: Jammed MicroSIM adapter
Unbelievably, but I also did the same stupid thing with the micro SIM card adapter and the nano card just a month or so ago. What's even worse, I tried to pry the adapter out of the SIM try, and of...

Hey blue_led,
Any progress with this? Would be a shame if you'd stop now.

Re: The best racing game ever?
I'd have to say Colin McRae 5, and Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 4. But Colin McRae Dirt has also a pretty good balance between arcade and realistic approach to the physics model.

Re: Steve Jobs' open letter about Adobe Flash
Don't know whether it's sad or funny when Jobs speaks of flash being closed as one of the reasons not to include it on Apple's products, as they are well known for their openness.

Re: The N800 has a 3D accelerator, right?
Well, lets not confuse ARM with PowerVR, those two are completely different things. We can argue that Linux lacks good PowerVR support, which is mostly true.
Besides don't know how much hardware...

Re: The N800 has a 3D accelerator, right?
What are you talking about?! Practically every smartphone out there is ARM based device. Qualcomm, Marvell, TI, all use ARM as their core processors. I don't see that much of a problem in case of web...

Re: Startup Script after boot
Or you could do it the old fashioned way, by putting the script you want to run in /etc/init.d/, and the creating a link to it in /etc/rc2.d (default runlevel is 2, if I'm not mistaken).

Re: worth to get n810 now?
I was just comparing the N810 to N900. The only major difference in terms of usability is the GSM module, at least the way I see it.

Re: worth to get n810 now?
Not a bad deal IMHO. Buy it if you don't plan, or don't have the possibility to buy N900 (or it's too expensive for you). What for? It is still a good device, lacking only GSM module. I use mine...

Re: Hildon-Home being unresponsive
This is also known to happen on N810 and N800. The problems are most definitely memory leaks in one or several widgets. The problem is not apparent immediately after the reboot, but appears several...

My experience tells me that the problem was exactly OMWeather, at least in my case. While I was using it, the system was way too slow and unresponsive, and hildon would crash quite often. Since I've...

Could be, but have no idea whats causing it.
Even though, after this crash, when I try to start the mbxdaemon again, i t says that one instance is already running.

Re: How often do you reflash?
It could be that some poorly written applet is consuming too much memory/cpu cycles. Try disabling all applets, and then enabling one by one, to find out if maybe they are the problem. One was in my...
