After installing this most recent thumb update my N900 has now changed to Portrait mode (unless I open the keyboard). How would I switch back to Landscape please?

OK I think I'm sorted now. I reinstalled pulseaudio and now the sound is back working again and CPU levels are normal.

Here is what I typed.
agt-get install --reinstall pulseaudio

What are the names of all of the thumb compiled pulseaudio packages? - I might try reinstalling them but not sure what they are called.

Ok thanks, that has allowed me to reinstall libpulse0_0.9.15-1maemo44+0m5+0cssu4+thumb0_armel.deb but unfortunately I am still left with the original problem of high constant CPU usage. I notice too...

I just tried your suggestion but it says "libpulse0 is already the newest version" - What version do I need & how do I check my current version please?

I have finally just got around to updating my N900 to the most recent thumb update and am noticing that the CPU is now consistently between 40%-60% usage.

I'm still unable to run gngeo using your gui Ade (segmentation fault). Any more ideas I can try? Would love to get this working via the gui.

Afraid not, no. It still just reports segmentation fault. I was able to run the gui in the past but I don't recall this latest version of the gui ever working.

I have the same problem but just assumed the n900 is not powerful enough to play the content. Is BBC Iplayer really working (& watchable) for other N900 users?

I too am now just getting a black screen after updating to this latest versions. i have to use the ctrl backspace keys in order to end the app.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still getting...
