Re: File Manager

I see that too (different GUI appearance if run as 'root' or 'user'). It's probably due to different configurations stored in each users' home directory. But I haven't bothered to look into it yet....

Add the following line to "/etc/sudoers" (need to be root to edit it):
user ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/local/lib/emelfm2/emelfm2
Change the...

Re: Customize X-term?

What do I need to enter for pipe? I've tried various things, many of which kill xterm. Is there a list somewhere for the magic <> values to use with this toolbar? Like "KP_Enter" - apparently...

Re: Flying-keyboard xterm?

I would like to know this as well - love the overlay keyboard for my N800.

Here is the original thread: http://internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10348

Re: Maemo Mapper v2.0

I think it would be great to be able to download POIs centered at the current display location.
I tend to just pan around to where I'm interested in going, and don't bother creating routes to those...

Re: Overclocking N800?

There's a link to a power management presentation from July in this post on the maemo-developers mailing list:

From the doc...

Re: Is anyone else just happy their SD cards are working again?

Thought I'd post more numbers. With the standard Nokia 24MHz SD clock limit built back into my kernel, both cards mentioned above now sit at 8MB/sec on the 'dd' read test.

So a 100% increase in...

Re: Is anyone else just happy their SD cards are working again?

No before/after transfer speeds, unfortunately. With this test:

time dd if=/dev/mmcblk? of=/dev/null bs=8192 count=30000

I get right at 12MB/sec on both the internal slot (8GB Class 6...

Re: Is anyone else just happy their SD cards are working again?

Well, I was attempting to install your KDE package, and I got my N800 to lock up/reboot during the large un-tarring procedure. The "XFCE-6-INSTALL.tar.bz2" file was on the same card (8GB Transcend)...

Re: My wifi issues and solution

Hey - Milhouse just beat me to the static IP idea. Oh well - as I have it typed up, might as well submit it...

You could also set your connection up on the N800 side with a static IP - assuming...

Re: I've had it!!!!!! More SD card problems

Follow-up to my last post:

Tried an SDHC-compatible card reader in Windows and my 8GB Transcend isn't recognized. Clicking on the SDHC card reader drive letter in Windows file explorer causes...

Re: I've had it!!!!!! More SD card problems

Add me to the list. My 8GB Transcend SDHC card started off good, then had a few corrupted filenames, and progressed to where the N800 doesn't even recognize that the card is inserted. Here is my...
